rental bike options at Vernonia SpringsWith the great weather coming I thought it was time to do my annual spring update for Vernonia Springs.  2019 will be a pivotal year Vernonia Springs as we do our last bit of building out here to complete the business.

New additions to the business this year include our fleet of electric bikes from our partner at Rad Power Bikes in Seattle.  If you have never ridden and “ebike” as they are called … you are truly missing out!   Rent one of our ebikes and cruise the Banks Vernonia State Trail in total comfort.  Regardless of the physical condition you are in, you will be able to focus on the natural beauty along the trail instead of struggling up the hills.  If you are old school and would prefer to ride a pedal bike, enjoy one of our Trek hybrid pedal bikes or one of our Townie pedal comfort cruisers.  All are awesome … just a different experience.

Our glamping yurts are waiting for you!  We take the hassle and discomfort out of traditional camping and provide Bobcat yurt at Vernonia Springsyou with everything you need to enjoy nature.  Simply get in your car and drive to Vernonia Springs … we do the rest!   Yurts include skylight for meteor gazing, queen bed, linens, comforter, pillow, towels, heat, WiFi and more.  You can book online HERE:  Mid-week special rates are available.  View our Travel Oregon article HERE.

Food Pavilion at Vernonia Springs2019 will be the year of experimentation in our onsite Hillbilly Cafe.  To compliment our already perfected wood fired pizza, we will be adding Calzone to the menu … so so good!  Our menu is simple, but high quality and value priced.  There are also several good restaurants in Vernonia just six miles down the bike trail.  We have also received our alcohol permit so we will be serving Oregon wines, micro brews as well as several hard liquor specialty drinks such as Bloody Marys and other other creative concoctions.

The last update that I am most excited about is the addition of Forest Farm @ Vernonia Springs.  Our farm managerForest Farm @ Vernonia Springs Chris Wermuth has taken the winter to design, build and now manage our small micro farm that will focus on growing vegetables, flowers and native plants.  Output from the farm will be sold at local farmers markets and supply our food cart with fresh organic produce and eggs.  The farm has row crops, raised beds surrounded by douglas fir logs from the property, greenhouse, chicken coop, composting system (standard and vermiculture), Hugelkultur beds and much more!  Follow us on Facebook at Forest Farm at Vernonia Springs.  Join us on July 6th, 2019 for the Artisans and Farmers Market here at Vernonia Springs

Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!
